Local Assistance - A very good idea at the beginning would be to see what help is provided to you in your local area.  Your local BUSINESS LINK is always a good starting point, especially for Training and 1-to-1 Business Advice. Useful Factsheets - UK Enterprise Solutions have teamed up with the Scavenger Small Business Research Resource to make available to you their extensive range of "Business Opportunity Profiles"These factsheets are practical profiles that review the legal requirements, start up costs and training needed to set up hundreds of different types of businesses. The Profiles also provide hints and tips for researching customers and competitors, and list essential sources of further information. Notifying the Inland Revenue - When the time comes for you to start trading it will be necessary to inform the Inland Revenue of your status.  This is a straight forward process and CLICK HERE to be taken to the HMRC.gov.uk web site to get yourself registered etc.
